Parent Involvement
The Williamson County Youth Orchestra is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization with many opportunities for parents to plug in! We’ve undergone significant changes during the fall in the hope of improving the experience that we offer each student.
Our parent volunteers are an important part of our future. Because of the limited rehearsal time each week and the numerous tasks needed to help each group run well, parent involvement is a key part of our groups.
The list below contains some of the current needs. If you would like to volunteer with the items listed below or would like to suggest an activity where your skills could be useful, please contact your group’s director.
Rehearsals
- Room setup, signage and equipment in place
- Welcome students, take attendance, pass out/collect paperwork
- Coordinate and/or serve refreshments
Concerts and/or Special Events
- Room setup, equipment in place
- Event photography and videography
- Ushers/seating/programs
Internet/Publicity
- Email updates, web site updates
- Publicity for events with local media
- Print media such as programs, program advertising, etc.
Future Growth
- Fundraising
- Grant writing
- Corporate sponsorship
